Perforation is design too
Perforated panels are punched on a CNC turret press. Hole size, pitch and pattern (straight, staggered, graduated or figurative) all come from the drawing; open area is typically 10–50%, chosen for acoustics or solar control.
With acoustic fleece and non-woven backing the panel becomes an absorber with NRC up to 0.75. Without backing it is used for canopies, screens and light-box backgrounds — translucent, ventilated, and especially effective backlit at night.
