Overview
Radial segments, punched one by one
An entrance is the first impression of a hotel. Here the canopy is a radial fan built from perforated aluminium: panels are cut as fan segments, punched and folded individually, then assembled on site by number so the joints follow the radial lines and read as one surface.
The finish is champagne-gold fluorocarbon. Backlit, the perforations release a fine pattern of light points; the columns and the underside of the canopy are closed with matching flat panels, binding the whole entrance into a single volume.
